To highlight the art of pairing select whisky with exceptional food and to showcase their notable collection of fine single malt scotches, the Gateways Inn and Restaurant in Lenox, Mass., will host a Macallan Whisky cocktail reception and four-course dinner on Saturday, October 21, beginning at 7 p.m.
Executive Chef Rosemary Chiariello has created a four-course menu for this special event. Opening with a cocktail reception, guests will taste Macallan Fine Oak Scotch (10 year) to complement the hors d’oeuvres. The dinner’s first course of roasted duck breast salad will be paired with Macallan Fine Oak Scotch (15 year) followed by Macallan Sherry Oak (18 year) paired with lobster cappuccino. The third course, grilled beef tenderloin in a peppered wine sauce, will feature Macallan Sherry Oak Cask Strength, and paired with a delicious dessert of profiteroles with caramel gelato will be Macallan Amber, a new liquor scheduled for a national launch in January of 2007 to be sampled at this exclusive event.
Hosted by Danielle McAuliffe, market manager of Remy Cointreau USA, the tasting will cover topics ranging from the types of Scotch whisky available and the different Scotch whisky regions to how single malt whisky is made and the blending and marrying process of blended whisky.
Tickets to the Whisky Presentation and Dinner are $80 per person, not including tax and gratuity.
