Cases of Kilchoman

I was recently notified that Kilchoman Distillery has stopped offering casks for sale.

They are instead offering a limited edition release of their Single Malt at five years of age.

There will be 1,540 cases available at a cost of £165.00 per (a case of whisky is 6 - 700 milliliter bottles).

The offering is for a 2006 distillation run, which will be bottled in 2011.

GENERALLY these offers are not extended to the US, as it is a phenomenal pain in the ass getting liquor into the country (due to our ridiculous laws), but the offer doesn't mention any geographic exclusions. I'd check with Kilchoman.

Interested? Here is the order form or you can email Thomasina Glover for more details.

Hi Kevin ,
Two opinions for you ....
(a)Move to a country with less stupid laws...but definitely not to Canada !!!LOL!
(b)Collect them from the distillery....an excuse for a trip to Islay in 2011 !
Doubt they must be in need of a financial injection....that's what sprung into my mind anyway.....

Ooops
meant options....

You can understand, and sympathise with, their need for cash now but with delivery, duty and VAT a UK customer will be paying something around £40 per bottle for this 5 year old.
Still, looks good value against their neighbours PC5 release and that flew off the shelves, so this probably won't be a problem.
It's a great looking little distillery.

Kev,

Did you ever go for a barrel! If not you'll have to stay in touch as I did. Regards

Nick Chase
