12 days of Scotchmas: Whisky DVD
Continuing our "12 days of Scotchmas" gift guide.
A few years ago in London I picked up a great little DVD called "Scotch Whisky:
The Myth and the Magic"
Produced by HeeHaw Publishing who specialize in Scottish interest.
Our products present engaging and informative portraits of Scotland, concentrating on popular Scottish themes and significant eras in Scotland’s fascinating history. They present an entertaining and in-depth view of Scotland's turbulent past and unique culture and are sold throughout the UK, Europe, the US and Canada.
Why are you telling me about a 4 year old DVD?
Originally
released in 2003, the DVD has received a cosmetic makeover (the
actual documentary is the same). This means that if you have the
version with the old cover, there's no need to pick this one up.
That being said, if you DON'T own this DVD, there's no reason NOT to pick it up.
Highly entertaining and informative, with appearances by Nick Morgan, Charles MacLean, Dave Broom, Richard Paterson and others, the documentary is beautifully shot with a great soundtrack.
It also plays on both PAL and NTSC systems (It's a double-sided disc).
The DVD covers topics such as:
- The History of Whisky
- Production process
- Blends & Malts
- Drinking Whisky
- The Industry and more
To help you make your decision about picking this up, HeeHaw has graciously offered to extend a 25% discount to readers of The Scotch Blog - and that discount applies not just to the purchase of the Whisky DVD, but for anything in the HeeHaw catalog.
To receive this discount, just put SCOTCHBLOG in the promotional code box of the order form.
This DVD comes highly recommended for both newbies to the world of whisky as well as long-time fans.
It's a great way to spend an hour.
HeeHaw was nice enough to send me a copy of the disc, but since, as I said I already have one, I will give this one free of charge (that includes postage) to the first person to send in a picture of themselves wearing the new The Scotch Blog or Free Scotland shirt.
This is NOT a paid promotion.
